Prop. 71 - About This Measure
Proposition 71
Stem Cells: Money, Ethics, Cancer and Blood Disorders
Proposition 71 asks for $3 billion, with additional interest costs, from the General Fund for stem cell research. This research seeks to develop new treatments for various cancers and blood disorders. Though current California law prohibits human reproductive cloning, ethical questions still surround this issue because of the use of human embryonic cells.
